This story's right, this story's true I would not tell lies to you. ” – Archie Roach

Welcome to the conversation between the Songlines of this country and the music of our European history.

Our welcoming event starts with Six Seasons – a magical newly commissioned work from young Gunditjmara man Corey Theatre that is part language reclamation, part language learning and part cultural offering. Featuring the ancient voice of Archie Roach with the youthful voices of local schoolchildren, this new work sheds light on the transformations of country that the indigenous changes of season bring, and invites us to the campfire of shared understanding.

Following this work, Max Richter’s magnificent re-composition of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons will take centre stage, featuring one of Australia’s finest period violinists Brendan Joyce. This reinvention of Vivaldi’s well known concertos transforms this baroque masterpiece into a work utterly of our time.
