Shining stars of the Melbourne music scene Elizabeth Sellars and Molly Kadarauch join forces in a vibrant display of their astonishing abilities, performing rarely heard masterworks of the early 20th Century. The sumptuously rhapsodic Kodály Duo from 1914 takes its inspiration from the fiery folk tunes of Central Europe with violin and cello engaged in passionate discourse, while the breathtakingly virtuosic Ravel Sonata from 1922, dedicated to the memory of Debussy, is a tour-de-force of inspired melody and unflaggingly inventive texture, as the players sprint across their fingerboards to a spectacular finale.
